Takeo Dressco Onionskin Notebook

This notebook is built around KateJo, an onion-skin paper Takeo brought back into production after the last Japanese mill making it closed in 2010. The sheet is very thin and faintly translucent, with a fine crumpled texture you feel as soon as you turn a page. Because the paper takes up so little room, there are 300 pages here in a book only 9mm thick.

The binding is PUR, which means every one of the 300 pages opens flat and you can write across the spine without pinning the book down with your other hand. Fountain pens and pencils both sit well on the surface. At 108 by 152 millimetres it fits a coat pocket or the side of a bag, which makes it a good choice for a journal or a long-running set of notes you would rather keep in one place.

The strongest story product in the Dressco selection — a discontinued paper revived, with a page count no comparable notebook matches at this thickness.
