M.D.F (Match Design Factory) is the original retail brand from Kobe Match Co., Ltd. — one of only three remaining match manufacturers in Japan, in production since 1929. Created in collaboration with Kobe creative studio TRUNK DESIGN, MDF revives 100 years of international matchbox label art: 72 designs drawn from a global archive spanning Japan, England, Scandinavia and the Americas, produced in six assortments. Each retail unit is a pair of complementary matchboxes, offset-printed on Sankou Diamond recycled fibre board in the classic Japanese household format. Collectible, giftable, and immediately displayable — a strong impulse purchase at accessible price points.
