Makers Cabinet x Blackwing Høvel Pencil Plane

The Høvel rebuilt for Blackwing in black anodised aluminium. It is noticeably lighter than the brass original and finished in Blackwing's matte black, but the action is identical: a carbon steel blade shaves wood back from the core so you shape the point yourself rather than accepting whatever a sharpener gives you.

That matters most with softer graphite, which a rotary sharpener will happily snap. It comes on a black-dyed wooden base that catches the shavings as you work, and with ten replacement blades.

Trade notes

A limited collaboration edition, so treat it as finite — no repeat production is guaranteed once the run is gone. Its natural home is a Blackwing fixture rather than the Makers Cabinet display: it converts an established pencil customer at a higher price point than anything else on that shelf. Accounts already carrying Blackwing volumes and Blackwing points should see this first. Takes the same replacement blades as the brass Høvel.
