Makers Cabinet Høvel Pencil Plane
The Høvel is a plane, not a sharpener. It works the way a carpenter's plane does: a carbon steel blade shaves wood back from the graphite instead of spinning the pencil against a fixed edge. You control how much comes off and where, so the point is yours to decide — a long elegant taper, or a flat chisel edge for shading.
It also means soft cores survive. Anyone who has watched a 6B or a coloured pencil snap inside a conventional sharpener will recognise the problem this solves. The body is solid brass and sits heavy in the hand; it patinates as you use it, so no two look alike after a year. Ten replacement blades are included.
